World of Darkness: Ghost Stories is a sourcebook for the Chronicles of Darkness.

Summary Edit

From the White Wolf Catalog:
Death Is Not the End
“I see you. You go about your life like nothing ever happened. You think you’re safe now that it’s done, like a problem that you’ve solved once and for all. You’re wrong. I remember what you did. You might have killed me, but I’m not gone. I stayed behind… and I won’t go until you’ve paid.”
A New World of Darkness Begins
Ghost Stories is the first supplement dedicated specifically to mortal characters in the World of Darkness. Glimpse the secrets of the supernatural in five different adventures that lead players and characters into the deepest shadows and unknown places of the brand-new setting. This is your chance to explore the hidden world all over again, using the new Storytelling System.
This book includes:
  • Your first opportunity to play mortals as characters with the Storytelling System
  • The mystery of the World of Darkness grows with five ghost stories to play around your gaming table
  • A great prequel to Vampire, Werewolf and Mage chronicles

ChaptersEdit

Prologue: Clutch Edit

Introduction Edit

The five chapters are standalone scenarioes that can be played as they are or be altered a bit to fit into your own campaign.

Chapter 1: Dust to Dust Edit

Dust to Dust is about a forgotten town that seeks to reclaim its former glory — at the expense of anyone who resides in it. Consider this the story of a ghost town updated to the 21st century.

Chapter 2: The Terrifying Tale of James Magnus Edit

The Terrifying Tale of James Magnus confronts characters with the legacy of a twisted and abusive man. They deal with the home in which he murdered his wife and killed himself, but which he never left.

Chapter 3: No Way Out Edit

No Way Out reveals the ramifications of suicide, and the anguish that results when a desperate effort to escape life’s problems only binds one to them in the afterlife.

Chapter 4: Roots and Branches Edit

Roots and Branches explores the cycle of abuse that results from murder, when people killed in the vicinity of a tree turn its branches into a web that ensnares the dead. Murder begets murder as the tree’s hunger for more victims grows.

Chapter 5: Holy Ghost Edit

Holy Ghost illustrates humanity’s lack of faith, and the danger of passion taken too far. Even acts of mercy, generosity and sacrifice, performed for the best of reasons, can keep a soul from its final reward.
