In 1806, the Voltarian Order is founded on the precepts of Alessandro Volta. Many members are the philosophical remnants of the Natural Philosopher's Guild.

In 1851 the Order of Reason undergoes reorganization and emerges as the Technocratic Union. The Voltarian Order is re-christened as the Electrodyne Engineers.
