Since she was a child in southern France, Virgine was abused and mistreated. She grew into a homicidal bitch and was discovered by a Lasombra as a potential killer. He butchered her family and took her as a ghoul. When she proved her usefulness the Sabbat embraced her, using the neonate as messenger and spy.
As a vampire she experienced a kind of freedom she never had before. Her warped upbringing allowed her a taste for the killing, and soon was leading one of the most feared packs in France, striking at the heart of the Camarilla, and several Ancillae and Elders fell to her fangs.
She discovered she had a talent for making tactical and strategic decisions and led a sucessful crusade against Marseilles in the late 1990's. In the year of 1999 she led yet another war, this time against Dublin. Members of the Camarilla "Connachta" fief were slain, and the city was claimed by the Sabbat. After a ridiculously short existence, Virginie had become bishop and settled down to consolidate her gains.
However, something about the city disturbs her. Her subordinates are being slowly destroyed or driven insane. She seeks to find the source of the "curse" and overcome it. Now Virgine realizes that she was never really in control of Dublin at all, but was set up to claim too grand title, and the rest of the Sabbat derides her as a result.
