Valmont is an Iku Eshu Wilder who spends a good deal of time in San Francisco.
As of the novel, Court of All Kings, Valmont has crossed into Arcadia via Silver's Gate.
Overview[]
Unseelie because they grant him the respect his position warrants, Valmont may well be a prince among eshu. Among humans, though, he's just one more hustler with a telemarketing or 1-900 number scheme up his sleeve. Always moving, never resting, always talking, Valmont seeks to control any situation he's in. If someone is in authority over him, he'll challenge them, just to make sure the authority is earned. This, as well as his abiding interest in her as a possible lover, drives his constant feuding with Leigh. In addition to her, he also loves money and often skates on thin ice over dark seas of Banality to get it.
He and Rasputin are good friends, though they rarely see eye to eye on anything. He is also familiar with and highly critical of Duke Aeon's court, although he rarely openly expresses his feeling on the matter unless directly confronted about them.
What his position is among the Eshu remains a mystery.
Personal[]
There's always an angle and he will find it. He never throws away a contact because he never knows when someone's going to be useful. He keeps track of favors he owes and is owed and makes sure the balance never tips. Pretty ladies have a way of catching his eye, and while he's not quite Don Juan, he's damned close. He challenges those in authority, particularly Leigh. If they can't take his heat, he doesn't want to be in the kitchen with them.

Valmont is a slender, dark-skinned young man in tasteful suits who projects an aura of self-confidence. He's too much of a wheeler and dealer to look anything less than sharp. In his fae mien it is obvious that the blood of princes runs through his veins. His features sharpen and his skin color deepens.
