Noticed you updated 1999 (oWOD). Fantastic, but don't forget to cite your sources. I want people to know that they can trust the Wiki, and that we're not making stuff up. That trust comes in the form of book/page references, so people can check up on everything themselves.
That goes for everything on the site. There are a lot of pages with no references, but I'm slowly trying to fix that. 1999 (oWOD) is certainly one of them. While I can't help with existing entries on that page yet, I can at least make sure that the new stuff that gets added is appropriately referenced. See 1999 (TU) for an example in action.
Also, make sure that you list the book(s) you're currently working on or have already finished on the Timeline talk page.
Thanks tons! --Ian 00:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Completeness
I talk a lot, don't I? :D
Remember that with any specific date (particularly one you've got a solid book reference for), you need to not only update the year article, such as 1999, you also need to update all the individual date articles, like all the October stuff that Doctor119 goes into.
I find it easiest to update the year article, then Preview. That lets me follow links and access the code on a single page. Then I open up each relevant date article in a new tab or window, and copy/paste the relevant information and references. Then when I'm saving the new copies of the date articles, I save the year article. So it gets updated first, but saved last.
Again, maybe isn't best for everyone, but I've found it handy. --Ian 00:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- I've taken your advice and it's worked well. Thank you. --Shaoken 00:45, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
