[edit] Books
Hey, I just wanted to know, why you've erased the links of the books from Hunter the Reckoning I thought it would be nice if people could see where they could find material about the characters
lg Ally
- I didn't erase them, I renamed them. The links you gave were incorrect book titles. To view a list of Hunter books, see Hunter: The Reckoning books. --Ian talk 23:25, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I was on the book page but I didn't see the infernal book there before I made the link, maybe they weren't linked on the book page -> Category:Hunter: The Reckoning books gosh I think I made you do more work then I was helping, sorry ^^;
- The category page will only show article pages which currently exist. The link I gave shows all the books released for Hunter, regardless of whether or not they have an article yet, and will show you the proper title to use for a book.
- Don't worry too much; no one expects you to be perfect when you first start editing. Just keep an eye on what sort of changes people make to your articles, so you have a better idea of what to do, and sooner or later you'll be fine. (: --Ian talk 23:46, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll try my best, I'm kinda impressed that I even did manage to do links.. and now they are all gone *sob* ;) I'm currently reading the infernal book, so I'll try to work on that and on the characters... and I hope I can find out what number the latelistener has... - Ally
[edit] Thanks for the Welcome message
Hi Ian! I saw your welcome message after I made a minor edit. Since I should be working on a paper for university at the moment, I won't be creating an account just now. Maybe later. Congratulations for all the good work you have done so for with this site! Cheers, Jens --145.254.162.48 10:12, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hai!
Hey your page is really nice, I discovered it a while ago but never took time to actually browse it for a while. It is surprisingly complete seeing some sections are based around games that are considered dead by their publisher and the hype surrounding the nWoD. I personally like the oWoD best and know quite a bit of the games. I was never a hardcore gamer (I played D&D even tough I liked WoD better) but I bought a couple of sourcebooks and have found some info on the net. I will gladly help in the incomplete sections I find that I can expand upon. Thank you for having the vision to create such a useful resource for storytellers and fans of the WoD lore. BTW I would like to know if there is people who still play OWoD online (like a blogg or a group or a mailing list or something)
lets keep in touch, -- Khronos7 05:16, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Glad you're enjoying the Wiki so far! I appreciate all the help I can get.
- If you're looking for places to find oWOD gamers, I suggest checking out WW's oWOD forums. If you're looking for an online chat environment for RPing, I recommend this thread.
- Best of luck! --Ian talk 17:33, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Old WW site
Dear Ian, I found a cached version of the old WW website. I always regretted I never saved anything that was on that site, so I'm really happy I can do now. I'll take what I need, but maybe it could be a good idea to repost some of its contents here on the wiki, especially the signature characters. I'd ask permission to WW myself but I know that sometimes english's intricacies are lost on me, plus I think you already know who to ask such a think, so would you please do that if you thing this is a good idea?
Here are a couple of links: [1] [2] [3]
Let me know, and thank you very much. --Vittek 19:11, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Correspondences
Hello Ian, I have an idea for an article that I think should be interesting: I want to list all links between various factions of the oWOD, and even their real-world inspirations when there is one. I'll also list references, but only when they talk about the connections between the various factions. The only problem is that I don't know how to call the page, I'd go with 'Correspondences' but then you'd have to disambiguate with the Mage Sphere of Correspondence. Any idea would be appreciated. I'll start to write the article here, so you can see what this is all about. -comes back after writing the article- Whew, I wrote a lot more than what I thought. Ok, I've created a Correspondences_(oWOD) page, so I don't pollute your talk page. Please let me know what you think, so we can rename the page. --Vittek 14:33, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think we need such a page. The information is useful, yes, but I don't see that we need a separate page for it.
- We already have, for example, vampire (oWOD) versus Kindred (VTM). The latter (Kindred) is about vampires as they "are" or as they see themselves; the former (vampire) is about the interpretation of others and the views from outside. Various relations other groups have with vampires (like the origins of the Tremere, the love/hate relationship Wraiths have with the Giovanni, etc) would be appropriate to be placed there.
- Real-world references would belong on the respective articles. Mogen Ha Chav should cover all the details about its relationship with real-world Kabbalah. I don't see a need for it to be placed on a separate page, unless that page happens to be about Kabbalah. --Ian talk 17:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- Uhm, sorry to hear that. This is the kind of informations I look for when I think about a crossover game. This page was trying to be a reference sheet for connections, so you can look here instead of reading each page of each faction of each game, and obviously the connections should be described thoroughly on each faction's page. I'll try to copy all information in the right pages; I'll copy the content over to my wiki, and I'll let you know when you can delete it. Or maybe you could merge it with the crossover page, but I don't think it fits there either. --Vittek 10:18, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Other Languages
[edit] Spanish
Hello. Answering your petition about help for create wikis in other lenguages, several months ago we began this wikipedia in spanish from the terms of the Encyclopaedia Vampirica. It´s concentrated around Vampire: the Masquerade.

- Thank you! I didn't know that site existed. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but it's good to know that it exists. --Ian talk 16:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi, in our website, we have a wiki about new World of Darkness. It's very complete , and until the moment we've have sections on NWoD (mortals), Requiem, Forsaken, Awakening and Promethean, and we've just begin the sections of Changeling, Vigil and requiem for Rome.

Hello, i'm glad to announce that i've created the http://es.whitewolf.wikia.com/, aka, WWW in Spanish. I'm new here at Wikia, so I need all the help I can get. I already uploaded some articles about Demon: The Fallen, and will continue doing that for a while. I need further explanation about linking different languages articles, I didn't understand how to do it. GreetingsFromHell --FedeFromHell 02:25, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

I currently run a chronicle and i would like to share all these information but i really new to wiki.
I would like to create a wiki project or add to your but i don't know how to start. --Bajorque 08:13, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Greetings, kind sir! Like those who posted before me, I am a native French speaker, interested in your project to create a new wiki. However, I must confess that I'm also a complete newbie to wikia (I created this account when I saw you were looking for help, that is... a few minutes ago): let me know if you want me to translate anything, but I certainly won't dare to take any initiative as long as I'm not familiar with the wikia system. Sincerely, Lilywhite 09:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Lilywhite, if you talk about the french Wiki on Werewolf the Apocalypse, it has been created ! And I need help with some translation, please visit the following : The listed pages require some translation to french.

[edit] Italian
Hi there Ian, i just signed in for this wiki, and, even though i am new at this wiki-thing, i am interested in helping translating in italian, since i read some books from the nWOD, so whenever you need my help i'd be happy to give a hand --Previous unsigned comment by Squall G.T.O (talk) 07:26, 7 June 2009

[edit] Greek
Hello there! I saw that you needed some translators and I guess I could lend a hand, since I am Greek. I must admit I am not exactly 'skilled' in wikis, but I guess it's not that hard, I could learn in a short time. Anyway, contact me if you need any help! Omnievul 00:01, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ευχαριστώ! I'll contact you on your Talk page with more information. --Ian talk 02:30, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I had a couple of questions regarding what you told me.
- In order to add Greek to the Languages section like in the Gangrel article, do I just have to add [[it:Gangrel]] at the end of the article once I've translated it? Moreover, I am not quite sure if "it:" is the correct code, because it seems to me it's for italian.
- I really have no idea what I should begin with. Any particular requests?

[edit] Portuguese
Hey there!
I'm Brazilian and could help with the creation of the wiki in portuguese. Are there any specific guidelines I should abide to?
Cheers.

- Hi, I'm Garras da Lua (most closely name in english, I think is Claws of the moon, or Moon's Claws ^^). I'm Brazilian and I saw you are looking for a portuguese translation. I already work in two wikis here as a admin (one stoped for a time about Voyage Century, other in all charge, about Dofus), but I think I can always have a time for one more!
- I worked about 5 years in wod translations in Brazil (for Devir Publisher, the owner of the rights here. Have some translations published in portuguese, and meet some of the authors in a few occasions), and have a fairly good knowing in wikia edition. May be a little slow to grow ( just me and one or two friends in beggining) , But I have a well know RPG Site in Brazil, that may help i it. Sorry for the brokle english, I can understand and translate fine enought, but as a good pair of years that I don't write an english, I may be a little ... forgotten.
- You prefer that yhe layout be similar of these wikia or different?
- I was looking, and Already exists one pt-br.whitewolf.wikia.com/wiki . But there's nothing posted there. I will try to make something there ! ^^

[edit] German
Hi Ian,
I am Austrian and admire your work with wolf-spoor.org and the white wolf wikia for some time now. I've seen your request for wikis in different languages and I have a little experience with those and I hope I can help to create the german version of white wolf wikia.
Greetings, Ben

[edit] Hungarian
Hi there! I saw that you're (currently?) looking for some hungarian editing and I'd be interested in helping you out, if you still need it. B.
- I'd love for you to help out, but you'll need a Wikia login before I can give you the right instructions. (: --Ian talk 16:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I am Richard. If still needed, I would be glad to help with translations. I read many Vampire: The Masquerade books both in English and Hungarian, so I hope I can manage to do some work. My email is nagyrichard1989@hotmail.com.

[edit] Greek Translators
Hello Ian,
I read you were looking for Greek translators. I am a big VTM fan and I would like to help, although I'm not very good at creating a Wiki page, is it perhaps possible when I finish translating something I could send it to you and you could post it? If there's anything you need me to translate please send it to me.
Thanks in advance.

[edit] Portuguese Translators
Hello! My name is Vera, a.k.a. Darkgogo, and I'm a Vampire: The Requiem Player from Lisbon, Portugal. In what concerns to Vampire and some of the new WoD texts, I can help. I won't promisse I'd be totally embraced by this project, because I have my own game to attend too. Nevertheless, I'm here to help if you want.

[edit] Jyhad (CCG)
Is there a reason you deleted the #redirect link from to Jyhad (CCG) to Vampire:_The_Eternal_Struggle? There's still a link from the Jyhad page to Jyhad (CCG), and since I was looking for the CCG under first "CCG" and then "Jyhad," it would have been nice to have the redirect in place. I had to google it to find the new name. B) In this instance I'll just fix the link on the Jyhad page, but I was wondering the reason for deleting a useful redirect in the first place, so I know the thinking here before I create any similar redirects. Thanks!
