[edit] Thank you for contributing!
Welcome to WWWiki! I've noticed that you've already started making some contributions to our database -- thank you! Might I suggest that you consider registering an account with us? Creating an account is quick and easy, and doesn't require you to give us any personal information at all. But there are a number of benefits to logging in, including the following:
- The use of a specific username that helps other Archivists recognize your own contributions
- The ability to view all of your contributions via a My contributions link
- You own user page and talk page
- The ability to create a watchlist that lets you add articles that interest you
- The ability to rename a page
- The ability to upload images and other media
- The ability to create a custom user style to modify the appearance of this site
- The right to contribute to formal votes in the community, including the votes for deletion and nominations for featured articles
If you're concerned about privacy, you should know that you're not required to provide any personal information at all -- not even an e-mail address! We've tried to make signing up as quick and as painless as possible. I hope you'll consider creating an account! IanWatson 01:34, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Double-check
While I appreciate your entries (really! You're one of the most prolific contributors thus far), I've noticed that you seem to be making the same few mistakes over and over. You nearly always seem to capitalize vampire, rarely disambiguate your links, have a tendency to do this: vampires to a plural when this: vampires will suffice, and hardly ever assign categories to an article.
All I request is that you take a look at the changes people have made to one of your entries once you've made them, and try to figure out why they've done what they've done. This way you'll have a better idea of what errors you may be making, and how to avoid them in the future.
I hope you continue to contribute. You may want to think about registering, as well. The only "personal" information collected is your email address, and neither I nor Wikicities uses it for anything nefarious.
Thanks! IanWatson 16:08, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- No problem; the vampires thing was mostly a stylistic decision, the delinked s drives me a little wiggy, and I know the capitalization is eccentric. I'll make sure to do those changes from now now.
