The Triumvirate were three vampiric political factions that ruled over Constantinople during most of its history.
Overview
The Triumvirate was an alliance between three powerful methuselahs and their broods under a common Dream. The Triumvirate mirrored the christian Trinity, with each member having different duties. The three rulers of Constantinople were:
- Michael of the Toreador clan, representing the Father
- Dracon of the Tzimisce clan, representing the Holy Spirit
- Antonius of the Ventrue clan, representing the Son
These Cainites and their offspring dominated the Byzantine night, but Constantinople found room for vampires of all clans.
After Antonius had been destroyed and the Dracon had left Constantinople, their places within the Trinity were filled by their descendants Gesu and Caius. This Second Trinity, however, only lasted briefly.
