Tiamat is a fourth generation vampire Embraced millennia before the birth of Christ in ancient Sumer. Originally a gifted witch named Lantla, she caught the attention of the Cainite Arakur, a childe of the Ventrue Antediluvian. After her Embrace she assumed her new name and diablerized her sire. Tiamat soon became one of the earliest major players in the Jyhad through use of her potent magic: she summoned the demon Drakonskyr during battle, and with its help forged a potent magical weapon, the Sword of Nul, which slew many beings in her and Drakonskyr's hands. Gaining a violent and merciless reputation, she was gradually possessed by Drakonskyr who made her into a sadistic beast that decimated her Cainite foes. After throwing the Sword of Nul into the Tigris River she found a final reserve of willpower and forced herself into Torpor in a great barrow-tomb full of traps in northern Britain hoping to keep Drakonskyr asleep forever.
