Thoth (original form Djehuti) is the Egyptian god of magic, usually depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a baboon. Among the Greeks and Romans, Thoth was often equated to Mercury or Hermes.

Vampire: The Masquerade Edit

The Followers of Set regard Thoth as one of the Aeons and the progenitor of the Brujah (the True Brujah, to be more specific).[1] Despite his close association to Ra and Isis, lector-priests still pay him their respects, since Thoth is intrinsically tied to the very concept of magic.[2]

Werewolf: The Apocalypse Edit

The Silent Striders use the name Thoth to refer to the Weaver. They use the Greek form to refer to the corrupted version and the egyptian form to refer to the "pure" version.[3]

Mage: The Ascension Edit

The Order of Hermes maintains that the god Thoth was originally a mortal mage named Djhowtey. Together with his wife Sesheta, also a mage, he traveled to Egypt from Phoenecia circa 2500 BCE. The mystic court they established there taught the earliest identifiable form of Hermetic magic, and founded the earliest Cult of Thoth to carry on their teachings. These organizations are collectively known as the Cult(s) of Thoth. Djhowtey was later deified as Thoth, while Sesheta was deified as Seshat. [4][5]

Mummy: The Resurrection Edit

The Isis Fragments record that Thoth came to the court of Osiris after he had been turned into a vampire. He is described in similar fashion to Typhon, only arriving at night and of tremendous beauty, but more benevolent. He tutored Isis and Nephthys on magic, only to vanish one night as mysteriously as he had come.[6]
