|Acknowledgments:|| In the making of this book I was fortunate enough to work with some remarkable people: Master Archivist Richard Thomas, Hermes bani Ex Miscellanea, who art directed the project; Viscount Lawrence Snelly, who assisted him; Lady Kathleen Ryan, B.S.R., who laid it out and designed it; the Honorable William Rea, who typeset the musical score for the Song of Bernadette; and the artists Dan Smith, Mike Danza, H.J. McKinney, E. Allen Smith, Omaha Perez and Sir Anthony of the High Tower, who did unbelievable likenesses of the Nine. Thank you all for your patience.|
Neither would this collection have been possible without the kind assistance of numerous companions, both Awakened and merely aware. My thanks to the following: Tsun-Hsing Kao, Felicia Thomas, Anne Q. Rea, Tabitha Givens, Lao Chi'han, Feedback, Christian Grief-Solice, Aristotle deLaurent, Gail Holsombake, Shih Feng, Marina Rampullo, Hightower MacFerrin, Sister Imagna-Nicole, and, of course, my friend, archivist Nichodemus Mulhouse. Blessings upon you all!

The Fragile Path: Testaments of the First Cabal is a sourcebook for Mage: The Ascension. Like The Book of Nod for Vampire: The Masquerade, The Fragile Path is presented as a book that exists in-universe and could be used as an in-character prop in a game.
- The Author page (p. 2) lists all the in-character authors. The Acknowledgments (sic) on the same page is largely an in-character presentation of the real-world people responsible for creating the book, with several in-character references thrown in.
