Tempestos is one of the Dark Arcanoi used by Spectres to help them navigate and survive the winds of a Maelstrom. It also offers the user limited control over the storm.
Spectres who most frequently use this art include the first troops to reach a Necropolis ahead a Great Maelstrom. Haints are also skilled users of Tempestos and use them to torment Harbingers and other Tempest-based travelers.

- Maelstrom Sense: A Spectre can forecast the arrival of a Maelstrom.

Storm Seeker: This allows a Spectre to become adrift in the Tempest and attract them to the nearest storm.
- Ride the Nightwind: A Spectre may fly at the same speeds and direction as the Maelstrom winds.
- Dust Devil: A Spectre can call up minor squalls and Nihils to use as propulsion.
- Tempest Fury: Spectres can call on the power of the Tempest to bring destruction in a limited fashion.
- Maelstrom Cauldron: The Spectre can summon a full-strength localized Maelstrom.
