Kindred is just a nickname for vampires used by the Camarilla. It is not accepted by the Sabbat, the Laibon, or the Kue-jin, and doesn't exist in the dark ages. Also, the idea is to have sort of a game line neutral reference to vampire, mage, werewolf, etc. Instead of going into the details and mythology of the game line, this article should represent the place of vampires in all of the Old World of Darkness.
