[Tzimisce] vs. Tzimisce
As noted on the Antediluvian page, it's standard practice to refer to an Antediluvian as [Name] so as not to confuse it with the clan; especially when the real name of the Antediluvian is not known.
The Toreador Antediluvian, for example, may be referred to as Arikel or as [Toreador]. Since we don't have another name for the Tzimisce Antediluvian, we must refer to it as [Tzimisce].
So please don't "correct" these instances. They are not malformed links, they're intentional references to the Tzimisce Antediluvian rather than the Tzimisce clan. --IanWatson 23:33, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Etymology
Do we have any canon etymology or hints as to where the name "Tzimisce" comes from? I came across a reference to a (real) "John 1 Tzimiskes" recently, but don't see much relation betwee the two. Just curious. 50.30.49.11 20:53, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

- The word Tzimisce may be an original spelling by a creative White Wolf author, but it is derived from one [or more] of various related Eastern European words meaning "dragon", such as the Romanian word zmeesc.
