Caution, this is a bit of a spoiler for the fiction! I've listed Frankenstein's monster and Mr Verney as separate characters because I think the intent is to make it ambiguous as to whether he really is the original Frankenstein, or just deluded that he is. Maybe I missed something that answers that question definitively, but I thought it best to keep the information vague. Thoughts? -- Guybrush 04:23, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

It's clear from the fiction that, if nothing else, Mr Verney believes that he is Doctor Victor Frankenstein's original monster (and, therefore, the first of his lineage). For instance, he does insist that the Modern Promethean is about him, and also that Dr. Frankenstein himself ran tests on him.
