Actually, Mortwights and Frighteners are two completely different breeds of Spectres in Orpheus. Frighteners appear in the Orpheus corebook and Mortwights appear in End Game. Although they both become Spectres from violent deaths, the exact methods aren't the same. The difference revolves around how they lived before they died. Frighteners may not have been cruel, dark-minded people before their death; they're more mad at being dead than anything which results in Spectredom for them, where as Mortwights almost always were evil before they died, and some would argue, destined to become Spectres.
