[edit] Do we need the (MTAw)?

I created this page, then discovered the stub that used to be at Fate. I think we need the (MTAw) specification; surely "Fate" has been used in the old World of Darkness somewhere? It also makes sense for the Arcana to all have the same format; while Death, and Fate and Space are not duplicate names from MTAs Spheres, they are very generic and bound to have been used, or to be used in the future, by one of the other games. Of course, I might be totally wrong, which is why I'm asking for concensus. Anyone? -- Guybrush 13:48, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Fate is also a force referred to by wraiths (as in Lady of Fate, Legion of Fate, etc). It probably warrents its own entry at some point as it looms large in wraithly society and history. I had completely forgotten it's one of the Spheres. I'll add that to the Wraith list under Fate (WTO). BebopKate 18:28, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
In this case, yeah, we'll need the (MTAw). Good catch. Feel free to redirect Fate to Fate (MTAw), and don't forget to change all referring pages (including Template:MTAarcana).
In general, we'll keep an article title as simple as possible. Fr'ex, let's say muffin is a new character type from the old WoD. We'll usually keep that article as-is until a new book comes out using the term (so it'd be muffin (oWOD) versus muffin (nWOD)), or someone remembers that muffin is a spell in a Monte Cook book or something. Disambiguate when there's a verifiable alternate article, but don't disambiguate just in case there might be something else. If there is, someone will notice and it'll get taken care of then. If there isn't, you've got a disambig for no good reason. (:
Keep it simple! --Ian 03:42, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks both of you for the info; I've redirected Fate to here and created Fate (disambiguation). Hope this is the way is should be; let me know if not. -- Guybrush 09:39, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
It's fine-ish. Typically, the disambig page would just be put at Fate, but given that the Awakening term is probably going to be the most common usage, it's okay to put the disambig at Fate (disambiguation). In that case, however, the main Arcana article can just stay at Fate rather than requiring Fate (MTAw).
But it's okay as-is. Just a note for the future. (: --Ian 16:32, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
