Sunless Sea

The Sunless Sea is the section of the Tempest that lies between the Isle of Sorrows and the Far Shores. Named because the sky above it is always dark, light in the Sunless Sea from sources such as ships and beacons can be seen for miles because it scatters off the surface of the water. The tides of the Sunless Sea, which shift twice a day, are also how the wraiths of Stygia keep time. The Sunless Sea merges with and forms part of the Sea of Souls near Stygia.
