Shadow Cults are Conspiracies of the Vampire clan Mekhet in the game Vampire: the Requiem.
Overview[]
The Mekhet clan has no innate powers of their own, but instead they delve into their philosophies with such vigor, that shadow cults start to arise around them.[1]
In contrast to most other factions of the undead, the shadow cults consist mostly of humans. The humans often have no idea what the shadow cults' true purpose is and instead join for any number of reasons. Sex, knowledge, and power are common, but other reasons exist. Anything that the Mekhet can pawn off to get the humans to do their dirty work.
A number of young vampires are usually also a part of the shadow cult without knowing its true goals and purpose. Normally, only a small group of Elders are granted this knowledge and it may be completely different from anything all the other members believe.
Major Shadow Cults[]
While the exact number of Shadow Cults is unknown, a few have made their mark on history:
- Followers of Seth
- Moulding Room
- Narodnaia Volia
- Moirai
Minor Shadow Cults[]
There are a number of unnamed smaller shadow cults in the world, controlled by the Mekhet. These are more locally oriented and reach for smaller goals.
