Sword & Sorcery is White Wolf's imprint for d20 System and OGL games. Many of the games published by S&S were licensed from third-party companies, or were developed by third parties and then published by S&S. Sword & Sorcery books that were developed in-house by White Wolf, rather than published on behalf of a third-party developer, were published under the Sword & Sorcery Studios label.

Sword & Sorcery is an imprint of White Wolf Publishing, Inc, created to publish under Wizards of the Coast's Open Gaming License (using the rules set created for the third edition of Dungeons & Dragons®). Sword & Sorcery launched with the smash Creature Collection™ series and the popular Scarred Lands™ fantasy setting, and has also become the umbrella brand under which several smaller high-quality studios publish some or all of their OGL output. These studios include Monte Cook's Malhavoc Press, Necromancer Games, Goodman Games, and Guardians of Order. Sword & Sorcery has also licensed several popular properties, creating tabletop roleplaying games based on popular computer games such as Sony Online Entertainment's EverQuest® and EverQuest II® and Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft® and World of Warcraft®. At GenCon on August 14, 2008, Fiery Dragon Productions (formerly published under the S&S imprint) announced that they had attained worldwide rights to the Sword & Sorcery imprint and the Scarred Lands campaign setting from White Wolf.

Their first product was Creature Collection Fourth Edition, released April 14, 2009, following in White Wolf's 3e footsteps.

In 2015, Nocturnal Media (a publisher owned by White Wolf co-founder Stewart Wieck) announced a revival of the Scarred Lands, to be published by Nocturnal in association with Onyx Path; both companies co-owned the Sword & Sorcery IP. With the death of Wieck in 2017, Onyx Path bought out the Scarred Lands and is now sole owner and developer of the property.
