Rudolf's design for the game Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption
Born as the third son of a german nobleman, Rudolf Brandl was trained as a knight. With his good looks and obsequious personality, Rudolf managed to insinuate himself among a group of knights and nobles who outranked him, but allowed him to accompany (and fawn on) them. After a drinking session with his friends, Brandl was attacked in the night by a stranger who sank his teeth into his thoat and killed him. Later, he awakened, his sire apologizing for his apparent lack of control and instructing him in the ways of the Kindred over the next years. Grateful that he was Embraced into the true elite of the world, Rudolf did all he could to please his sire.
His sire encouraged Brandl to found his own princedom in the lands of Bohemia and - to the surprise of both - Brandl became the prince of Prague a short time after he arrived there. His subjects, however, proved to be difficult to rule over. As the Premysl family had most of the power within Prague, Brandl was forced more and more into the role of a puppet. Unable to affirm himself against the other Cainites of Prague, he eventually tried to demand the jewish ghetto as a feeding domain for his cronies, which Joseph Zvi, the protector of the ghetto, refused. Enraged, Brandl sent ghoul assassins to kill Joseph, only to be slain by the Nosferatu during the daytime.
