Roque, known as the Prince of the Mad, was the Malkavian Prince of Pamplona during the Dark Ages. His particular insanity manifested in his fastidious plannings and machinations.

Biography[]

Perhaps the most influential vampire in Navarre during the Dark Ages, Roque was somewhat isolated from his fellow princes in the Christian north of Iberia, both by geography and blood.

In a time when the Low Clans were regarded as fools who deserved their fallen state, Roque managed not only to keep his princedom within the Lasombra-dominated Iberian Peninsula, but also rule over his fiefdom with surprising skill. By using emissaries from the Toreador knighthoods to his fellows he managed to keep a grudging respect from the other princes across the peninsula.

Roque has also uncovered the existence of a group of witch-hunters called The Sword of St. James after they killed his childe Xalbador. As the prince was a stern enemy of the so-called Apostles of the Third Caine (a troublesome offshoot of the Cainite Heresy that swept into Spain), he decided to let the mortals continue their activities. Roque was certain that one night they would make useful pawns and it was pointless to destroy them prematurely.

Roque was also a prominent follower of the Ordo Aenigmatis and felt that the chaos the Shadow Reconquista brought across Iberia heralded another great era of destruction for all Cainites (possibly referring to the Anarch Revolt).
