The Order of the Wyrm is a secret society even among the numerous secret societies of Clan Tremere. Its members believe to have uncovered a great secret about the Clan and seek a way to survive Gehenna.

Overview[]

The Order of the Wyrm is centered around the prophetic Al-Azif, a tome penned by the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred. The Al-Azif purportedly reveals a universe much larger than most vampires would assume. One of the entities revealed within the tome is the Wyrm, the incarnation of destruction and misery that will one day swallow the world. Combining this with the fragmentary lore of the Book of Nod, the Order of the Wyrm came to the conclusion that only by pledging oneself to this entity could the Clan survive the coming Apocalypse. Using this knowledge, they deal in Diabolism, summoning demons from strange dimensions and with nearly unpronounceable names to do their bidding. They also seek more knowledge about this "Wyrm", focusing on the mythologies of the Lupines.

While the Order of the Wyrm claims loyalty to the Clan, they also believe that the Clan Founder is no longer himself and has been replaced by something far beyond the Kindred condition. They speak of a great white worm that has taken its place, pupating to birth out some horror that will take control over the Clan. They prepare for that event, while keeping their beliefs and activities a secret from the rest of their Clan and the Camarilla.

The exact number of followers of the Order is unknown. It is known that Patricia von Bernstein, Regent of the Rhine-Main region, is one of its heads and seeks a way to harness a tainted nexus beneath Frankfurt for her agenda. Another agent, Walter Ramsauer, operates in Vienna itself, surveying for potential recruits.
