Former Baron of Chester
Marcus Verus was the Prince (officially known as Baron) of Chester, once a loyal follower of his sire Mithras. In recent times, Verus abandoned the Camarilla and apparently his sire to cast his lot with a Gehenna cult.
In his mortal days, Marcus Verus was a Roman legionnaire with the Legio XX Valeria Victrix, inducted into the Cult of Mithras and eventually Embraced by the Immortal Deity himself. After the collapse of Rome, Verus was dedicated on preserving its traditions and the tenets of the Mithraic faith.
His combination of martial skill and classical learning have stood him in good stead as the Baron of Chester, a post he secured in the mid-eighth century before the arrival of the Danes. Marcus Verus was responsible for keeping the Cult of Mithras alive in the Baronies of Avalon and secured many territories for his sire in battle skirmishes.
He kept falling into torpor on an irregular basis, but remained prince of his fiefdom up into the modern nights, retaining his loyalty to his sire, whom he worshipped as a living incarnation of the god he served in life.
At an unknown point after Mithras vanished, Marcus Verus became antitribu after his allegiance to the Royal Order of Edenic Groundskeepers, a Gehenna cult, was revealed. Led by agents of the Tal'Mahe'Ra, Verus traveled to Tunisia, to a place near the Sidi Salem Dam where the resting place of the Brujah Antediluvian was suspected. During the journey, he began to suspect foul play and currently hides in Testour, plotting his next step.
He was captured by Ecaterina and Christof Romuald, after he attacked when his coterie was attacked by parties unknown. The pair staked him, removed his hands and feet, and then interrogated him. The elder swore vengeance, but before anyone could take action against him, Sylvester Marlowe struck them with a well-timed bomb. Verus survived and retreated to mend his wounds.
