In the World of Darkness, however, Pasteur´s death was nothing more than a ruse. Years earlier, Pasteur had been contacted by a vampire of unknown origins, named Georges. Impressed with Pasteur´s advances in the field of biology and studies of diseases, he approached the french doctor, seeking help to find a cure for his condition. Although Pasteur research failed to produce results at the time, the scientist did managed to store the vampiric blood, and suceeded in developing a away to turn humans into vampires through innoculation. It was using this method that Pasteur, already feeling the approach of death, managed to gain an extra time to his research.
After his "death", Georges disappeared, but Pasteur continued his search for a cure to vampirism...now, as a vampire himself. Assuming several fake names during in the following years, the doctir finally settle in Denver, Colorado, under the guise of Jacob Prestor. There, he managed to develop a serum that was, indeed capable of reverting a vampire to the human conditions, under an array of specific circunstances and not without much danger to the serum´s subjects. The notice about this serum, however, caught the attention of the Nosferatu Methuselah Thaddeus that, believing that Pasteur and his findings were a threat to the Kindred, manipulated the Prince of Denver, Edward Williams so he would order Pasteur´s death. After a desperate plot to create a vampire circle capable of helping in his protection failed, Pasteur finally met the Final Death in the hands of his enemies.
