Ibambo (plural: abambo) is the preferred term used to describe a human wraith from the Bush of Ghosts. It comes from the Mpongwe word for "ghost". Abambo play largely into the West African traditions of ancestor worship, although they have begun to suffer from a shortage of resources, especially Pathos, as many of their living relatives turn to other religions.
