Gabriel Chavez, also known as al-Ain among his peers, was an Assamite observer in Jerusalem followign the reign of Salah ad-Din, known for his strict adherence to the Path of Blood.

Biography

Born outside of Barcelona as the bastard of a Berber Muslim and an Iberian women who swang her allegiances according to those who held power in Iberia. Chavez quickly came to despise his mothers inconsistency and left her as soon as he could, joining the Umayyads. He was trained as an infiltrator and his skills as well as his determination came to the notice of the assassin master Tariq, and arranged that Chavez learned of some of the Caliphates dealings with the Visigothsbased on nothing more than capital, which horrified Chavez.

Determined to end his own life, as he was sure that the Caliph would execute him as soon as he would began to work against it, Tariq approached him and told him of Haqim and the Path of Blood. Chavez pledged himself to Tariq and after a decade of training, he was introduced into the Clan. In 975, Chavez was sendt to Egypt to observe the development of the Fatimid Caliphate and report any Setite involvement. His quick work as well as his skills with diplomacy with the Clan of the Serpent, earned him the monicker "The Eyes of the Serpent".

Following the First Crusade, Chavez was dispatched to Jerusalem, having witnessed the barbarity of the christians firsthand. After Salah-Dins conquest of the city, however, Chavez found himself at odds with the well treatment the heathens received. He became disillusioned with the muslim faith, pledging himself even stronger to the tenets of justice as detailed in the Path of Blood.

Following that, he dedicated himself on ousting the western Kindred from the city, by sowing dissent between the Clans, killing Cainite pilgrims and framing other Kindred. he survived the Anarch Revolt by staying away from the lands controlled by the Christian Church, but became increasingly reckless following the Blood Curse placed upon the Clan. The Silsila eventually decided to sendt him on a suicide mission in the late 16th century, when his temper had become a danger to the safety of the Clan.
