Lewis Gedrick, also known as “Majesty’s Witness”, was a Corax spy killed by the Nagah in 1919.

Biography[]

On April 10, Indian nationalist leaders Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal were arrested and deported by the British Deputy Commissioner. Angry Indian citizens demanded their release, and were fired upon by British soldiers. Protesters secretly planned to gather together in the square on the festival of Baisakhi. Gedrick, a Corax, spied on them. On April 13, the Amristar massacre took place in India because Gedrick informed General Dyer of when the protest was to take place. As a result, Gedrick was killed by three Nagah for his crimes on April 16.[1]
