Summary[]
The former Verbena master sold his soul to an infernal spirit in return for near-immortality and increased powers. Now one of the Nephandi, this ageless "conjure man" seems to be a pleasant, soft-spoken mountaineer who roams the mountains of western North Carolina "collecting" odd bits of local folklore. No one who has met him knows where he lives. Ephraim has set up his private "altar" to his demon-master at the appropriately named Devil's Courthouse. He is interested in rumors of vast stores of occult treasures hidden away in the vaults of Asheville's Biltmore House.
