In the common parlance of the Eshu, Elegbara (eh-leh-gbah-RAH) is a different name for the orisha Elegba Eshu the Powerful Knife. It has also been taken as a family name by his changeling descendants when he first brought them together and commissioned them with their duties. They also refer to themselves as Eshu's Chosen or variations of that title. The word can be either singular or plural depending on context.
