The Council of Du'at is traditionally the assembly of the heads of the three Assamite castes: the Caliph of the warriors, the Vizier of the viziers, and the Amr of the sorcerers.

The Du'at is the Assamite clan’s observed authority on matters of policy. Alamut’s records put the formation of the du’at as a formal body at approximately 2000 B.C. The du’at was the Eldest’s closest circle of advisors, though the council members often drew information from their subordinate specialists. The council also collectively arbitrated cross-caste disputes that threatened the stability of the Children as a whole.

With the destruction of one member and the subsequent departure of the other two, it is unlikely that a du’at will be re-formed in the foreseeable future.
