In 1823, the Difference Engineers are founded shortly after the creation of Charles Babbage's difference engine, and later the analytical engine.
In 1851 the Order of Reason undergoes reorganization and emerges as the Technocratic Union. The Difference Engineers are re-christened as the Analytical Reckoners.
