According to the Book of Genesis, the deluge was a flood sent by God to wipe out all of humanity save for Noah and his family. The vampires of the Classic World of Darkness, however, possess a collection of ancient texts called the 'Book of Nod', which have presented a version where the Deluge was also prompted by the actions of Caine and his childer during their reign in the First City.
After the Deluge destroyed the First City, Caine went into exile but some of his childer survived God's punishment. With the passing of the ages, they became known as the "Antediluvians".
