David Hatter was the night desk clerk at the Luckee Star Motel in Hollywood in late 2004, and aspiring screenwriter.

Writer's such a tarnished term, you know what I mean? It's like... like, every other guy says he's a writer, right? You write a letter, you're a writer, you know? I-it's like.... What I do, that's like, that's screenwriting, like, I encapsulate the essence of excellent film in my scripts, alright? Like, I'm a a - I'm like a blacksmith with pens, right; I'm a welder of montage.

Hatter loved old horror movies, and spurred by his conversations with Julius, he was looking to "redefine the vampire movie," and wrote a script tentatively titled Humanity vs. The Vampire Lords, inadvertently breaching the Masquerade.

He spent a lot of time with Velvet Velour at the Vesuvius, and told her of his screenplay, which concerned her, and led to her asking the prince's agent to take the screenplay and destroy it.

Quests[]

  • B-Rated Writer

Background Information[]

  • David was a client of Hannah Glazer's. The two had an appointment on September 12, 2004. He likes "that weird umbrella and water balloon thing."
  • David may be a reference to actor, screenwriter, director, and producer David Hayter. Hayter wrote the screenplay for X-Men and co-wrote X2 and Watchmen, and provides the voices of Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake, and King Shark on The Flash.
  • He may alternately (or additionally) be a reference to screenwriter David S. Goyer, who wrote vampire-centric films Blade and Blade II in 1998 and 2002 respectively, with Blade: Trinity releasing just after Bloodlines, in December 2004. There are a number of similarities between the newly-invented lore for Blade and Vampire: The Masquerade, which led to White Wolf considering a lawsuit.
