Zaroff was an expatriate Russian nobleman in life who loved to go hunting for the most dangerous prey. In the 1930s the authorities discovered he was kidnapping humans and using them for sport, looking for the most dangerous game of all.
He vanished from his island estate in the Pacific as soon as the authorities learned of his practices. A decade later, a neonate calling himself "Count Zaroff" appeared in Europe. He showed no respect to elder Kindred, often challenging them to some type of physical contest.
He has not been seen in the 10 years since he was expelled from Berlin. He is rumored to be a serial diabolist, and often associated with the Hunt Club – a flamboyant group of anarchs and young Cainites who hunt older vampires for sport.
