Dr. Charles Reid is a biologist and Enlightened agent of the Technocracy, working for the Progenitors.
Reid, the author of hundreds of scientific articles, works as a recruiter and trainer for new Progenitor agents. He grants initial interviews to students and, if they pass a stringent vetting process, enrolls them at his university in Richmond, Virginia for education in the ways of the Technocracy.
Reid possesses extreme views, considering the extermination of the Jews by Hitler "a roaring success", and hating the Traditions with a passion. He particularly despises the Virtual Adepts, whom he labels traitors. Ruthless in his training methods to ensure his students will remain loyal Technocrats, Reid has been known to create "backup" clones with which to replace rebellious students.
Among others, he recruited and trained Andrew Greene, Mary Beth and Rob.
