Carpet Crawler

Carpet Crawlers are a type of Spectre found in Orpheus. They are one of the type of Spectres dedicated to expanding the Spectral hives they call home. Looking like little more than shapeless, oozing mounds of slime with many eyes suspended within their body, a Carpet Crawler will slowly feel out new territory for the hive. As they travel, they leave a slug-like trail of gauze that forms new hive material; many of them can coat an entire building in gauze in days. Along with forming a foundation for new hive expansion, the gauze expands the reach of the hive-mind and the range of despair and rage emitted by the hive's presence. Carpet Crawlers look harmless, but they have very powerful tenticles and mouths of sharp teeth that they can call upon at a moments notice to defend themselves.
