Camilla Banes is one of the founders of the Camarilla, and the first Justicar of clan Malkavian.

Her Clan Curse expressed itself in a split personality that manifested in a gentle and caring, as well as a vicious and brutal personality.

Biography[]

Not much is known about her, but she was prone to strange visions and impressions that both frightened and delighted her. She felt the incoming destruction of both Japheth and Augustus usurpation of Clan Cappadocian coming, as well as the minor Maelstrom that would erupt within the Shadowlands as a result.

During the Convention of Thorns, Camilla was one of those who supported the notion of the Camarilla and the inclusion of the Malkavians. During the event, she tried to gain admittance for the Cappadocians into the sect, but was overruled by her own Clan. Her part in the ritual that cut off Dementation from her Clan is unknown, but she was not among the methuselahs that actually managed the feat. Some rumors claimed that she had ties to the wandering prophet Anatole.

After the Convention of Thorns, she remained Justicar until the year 1504. Around the 19th century, she developed martyr complexes, spending her daysleep nailed on an iron cross, while dreaming of the dead Cappadocian Antediluvian, and becoming a bitter enemy of the Giovanni who murdered her beloved.[1]

It is known that Petaniqua challenged Banes to a duel — a challenge which lies unanswered to this very night. Worried Petaniqua will never end her hunt, for she sees profane vampires where there are none, Camilla petitioned to add Petaniqua to the Red List years after its inception. Banes claimed she was a threat to all vampires, and Petaniqua’s madness and paranoia meant that she could not be reasoned with.

Appearance[]

Camilla is exceedingly tall, and rosy cheeked. Her eyes change between dreamy vagueness and glittering intensity. Her mastery over Auspex allows her access to brief glimpses of the future, yet she does so in such non-specific terms as to be impossible to interpret until the event itself transpires.
