Bubastis Jackson was a skilled thief.
Bubastis Jackson had enough of working in diners by the time she was 15. She saw the other firls on the street, and realized that they never had any chance of getting off it. Only the pimps ever got rich, and all the girls got was abused. Her mother once told her she had the name of a goddess in Egypt, and this only confirmed what she had known all along - that she wasn't going to spend the rest of her life at the bottom, and she wasn't going to play anyone's game. She was going to get to the top her own way.
She learned her chosen trade well, and enjoys the wide range of experience and acquaintances it brings her. She has been able to prove her theory that people are all the same underneath, and men are easy to fool whether they're rich or poor. All except for one - a mark she picked out at a cocktail party, run by that snotty Rillington woman. She was lucky to get out of that place alive, but then, robbing a vampire's haven is not an easy job, even for the most skilled thief.
