To Dean, for having the patience to be a guiding hand on top of everything else he had to deal with, and to George, for not throttling me.

Blood Sacrifice: The Thaumaturgy Companion is a sourcebook about blood magic for Vampire: The Masquerade. While is companion volume, Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy, focused on the Discipline of Thaumaturgy, Blood Sacrifice focuses on other, non-Hermetic forms of blood sorcery. The book features the disciplines of Akhu (Setite sorcery), Dur-An-Ki (Assamite sorcery), Sadhana (Indian blood magic), and Wanga (Vodoun blood magic).

SummaryEdit

From the White Wolf Catalog:
Hidden Sorcery...
While the Tremere have potent magic at their command, Hermetic tradition isn't the only source of mystic power. The ancient ways of Egyptian magic, the Sufic trances of the Middle East, sacrificial Hindu rotes and the natural magic of Caribbean craft can all be used affect the modern nights. But what are these thaumaturgies capable of?
Blood Sacrifice: The Thaumaturgy Companion includes:
  • New schools of blood magic, including rituals and paths
  • A multicultural look at a predominantly Western magical style
  • Residuals and anomalies: magic that is unique or waning in the world

ChaptersEdit

Prelude: VendettaEdit

Introduction: In Vitae VeritasEdit

Chapter One: Akhu - The Divine ImageEdit

Chapter Two: Dur-An-Ki - The Demon-Haunted WorldEdit

Chapter Three: Sadhana - A Meditation Upon BloodEdit

Chapter Four: Wanga - Legacy of the CaribbeanEdit

Appendix: Mysterious WaysEdit

The appendix introduces the Tlacique bloodline and their Mesoamerican blood sorcery Discipline, Nahuallotl, as well as several new rituals for non-Thaumaturgical forms of blood magic. The appendix also introduces the concept of spontaneous talismans: magical artifacts that defy origin and classification.
