Barrens, The: Areas of a city declared unfit for hunting, such as industrial wastelands.

The Barrens are referred to in both Vampire: The Masquerade and Vampire: The Requiem to indicate areas of a city unfit for life to hunt. This includes graveyards, abandoned buildings, and industrial wastelands or zones.^[1] They may also be areas of irreversible urban blight.^[2]
