Andeleon

Rumored to be the true founder of the modern Tzimisce clan and who was destroyed for doing so. One theory proposed by the True Black hand claims that orginally the Tzimisce had no Vicissitude and that Andeleon, in a failed venture into the Umbra or the Shadow, was attacked by a morbid form-shifting creature. Andeleon bit the creature in self-defence and was infected with a symbiotic supernatural life-form. The Black Hand explained this force to be a vampiric development of the same source that creates the Magus Nephandi and the once human formori. Vicissitude begins symbiotically but eats its way through the body, which it slowly deforms as it is used to change substances. Slowly it becomes a creature know as a "souleater" when the host loses his humanity, his "mortal soul," and gives in to the flesh. If a vampire with Vicissitude becomes a wight, the souleater takes over and preserves his intelligence with the soul purpose of spreading the disease. Andeleon's childer was the first Vissicitude-using Tzimisce and he and the entire orginal family was destroyed.

Some forumites have pointed out the similarity with Andeleon and the souleaters with the Salubri and the Niktoko. The background with Andeleon together with the True Black Hand has been edited out of the old World of Darkness by later suppliments and considered optional.
