Alchias was the Malkavian prince of Syracuse in ancient times.

Biography

He is reputed to have had Arikel, the Antediluvian progenitor of Clan Toreador, as his advisor for a period of his reign. He cemented an alliance with the Ventrue of Rome by accepting to guard the torpid body of the Methuselah Artemis.

When the Carthaginians attacked his city, a Brujah envoy from Carthage visited him and demanded that he should bow to Carthaginian sovereignty. Alchias flew into a rage and decapitated the messenger. After advising with both Arikel and Artemis, he pleaded to his Roman allies to marshal soldiers, helping to initiate the First Punic War. During the following battles and other Punic Wars, Alchias fought personally on the battlefield to protect his city and brought many other clans into the fold of Rome.

During the final siege that destroyed Carthage, however, Alchias was hurt so badly that he succumbed into a torpor from which he hasn't awakened ever since.
