- Aureolus becomes Emperor in Milan. Gallienus lays siege, but is murdered by his own men. The conspiracy includes future Emperors Aurelian and Claudius Gothicus, who finish the siege. Aureolus dies at the hand of the Praetorian guard. Laelianus tries to forge a small empire in Germany but dies after a month.[2]
