  • The Premier of Quebec is pushing for a referendum on independence aimed for some point in this year.[1]
  • Early in the year, Radu Szlaniskovich, the Eastern European Coordinator for DeVries National Tactical Solutions, starts browsing through DeVries databases for novas who possess a certain brand of heartlessness, ambition and obedience.[2] By late in the year, he has narrowed the potential "applicants" down to 14.[3]
  • Wilhelm Peron Lehrder resurrects the structure of the Medellín Cartel.[4]

January[]

  • The Apostasy Protocols are updated. Featured is a section on Theoconception, about dangerous nova cults.[5]

February[]

  • February 2: PBS shows a documentary, "'Moral Warfare'?: Combat Elites Talk About Their Experiences on the Front Lines." The show includes a segment from Eleanor "Cloudburst" Shechter, who was a DeVries elite during the 2001 conflict in Nigeria.[6]
  • February 26: Edward Phillip Rourke writes an article featured in N! Sight called "I Loathe My Country," about England.[7]

  • April 18 - April 24: The Neilsen report for this week reveals that the Most Accessed Passive Program for Week was XWF "Nova Extreme" special featuring "Kamikaze" Kiwalski and Superbeast in a flaming-steel-cage, cattle-prod, I-quit match. The Most Accessed Interactive Program for Week was the Team Tomorrow RPG. New episodes available daily. Most popular adventure so far was "Geryon in Seattle." Most popular personae remain Caestus Pax and Ragnarockette.[10]

June[]

  • June 14: Three gang members — Joshua Guillory, Scott Moore, and Paul Hadley — stride into Club 414 and fire automatic weapons into the crowd, killing seven.[11]
  • June 15: Today's London Times features articles about a nightclub shooting where seven people are killed, and a society ball attended by London Fog which helped raise £2 million for low-income housing.[11]
  • June 24: Violet Mayhew, reporting for BBC2 News Magazine, interviews Jacob Ashton about the new "gentlemen's club," the Temple of the King.[12]

September[]

  • September 18: The London Times reports that American nova Curtis Jones was injured when he was attacked by British nova James Heyman. Heyman called Jones a "thieving American bastard," and was charged with reckless endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. The altercation was over which of the two had the right to use the name "Betablitz."[13]
  • An epic XWF fight is first made available on this date.[14]

October[]

  • October 15: OpNet personality Doctor Caleb posts an account of his day. At the end of the day, he realizes he hasn't left his house in well over two years.[14]

December[]

  • December 1: Between now and January 14, 2014, 119 boats are intercepted north and northwest of Australia, carrying 17,796 people. All but 17 boats are tied to the triads, and all would-be immigrants are of Asian extraction.[15]
