In 1851, the Difference Engineers, and the larger Order of Reason, underwent reorganization and emerged as the Technocratic Union. The Engineers were re-christened as the Analytical Reckoners, after the analytical engine.
This will last until the later years of the 19th century, when the Union overhauls itself yet again. The Reckoners become the Virtual Adepts.

- From what I remember, the Analytical Reckoners would've had one based on the human mind as a means of collecting, analysing and communicating information, including memory palaces and the scientific study of psychic abilities.
- It's likely that there would have been antecedents to other Methodologies from the Virtual Adepts, as well.
